Chennai Super Kings shut all rumours regarding Dhoni

November 15 was the deadline for the IPL franchises to announce their releases and retained lists of players. Chennai Super Kings were no exception. The IPL team led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the IPL thrice and would be focusing for another triumph in 2020 as well.

CSK’s progress in the IPL has been prolific and the credit goes to smart team management, talented players. One of the major reasons for CSK’s success is also the captain cool who leads the team with utmost dedication. Although Dhoni has not been available for the national team for quite some time, no news regarding his exclusion of IPL has been revealed yet. Moreover, the Chennai team often showed their support for their skipper.

On November 14 a new rumour regarding MS Dhoni became viral. A tweet read, “As per Close Sources, @ChennaiIPL #CSK planning to drop MSD tomorrow! Might be very well his way of saying “Goodbye Chennai.”

Chennai Super Kings were quick to reply and wrote, Super Kings replied, “Time to say “Goodbye Close Sources”!”

Dhoni remains CSK skipper

This obviously ended all rumours and Chennai’s intention regarding Dhoni was once again made clear. Even though on November 15, CSK made a few changed to their squad just before the IPL 2020 auction scheduled for December 19 in Kolkata that is not affecting Mahendra Singh Dhoni at all. CSK released the list of their retained players that marked Dhoni as captain of the squad. Dhoni who is not making an appearance in Indian jersey will be probably seen first time playing cricket after World Cup in IPL 2020.

Here are the players CSK retained: MS Dhoni (C), Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Murali Vijay, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Monu Kumar, Narayan Jagadeesan, Harbhajan Singh, Karn Sharma, Imran Tahir, Deepak Chahar, KM Asif, Shardul Thakur, Lungi Ngidi.
