BCCI to support a green initiative during the playoffs of the IPL 2023

The Board of Cricket Control in India has decided on an environmental friendly initiative ahead of the playoffs of the TATA IPL 2023. Each dot ball bowled in the IPL 2023 Playoffs will result in the BCCI planting 500 trees. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has undertaken a number of measures to encourage environmental sustainability and help to preserve the environment.

Other initiatives by the BCCI

The BCCI has had many initiatives for the environment in the recent past. A procedure for green certification has been implemented by BCCI for cricket stadiums all over India. The idea is to persuade stadiums to embrace environmentally responsible behaviors including recycling, managing garbage, conserving electricity, and using renewable energy sources.

The usage of solar energy in cricket stadiums has also been emphasized by BCCI. In order to generate electricity and lessen their reliance on fossil fuels, many stadiums have installed solar panels. This action reduces carbon emissions and encourages the use of sustainable energy.

During games, BCCI encourages proper waste control techniques in the stadiums. Waste is separated and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way through various efforts. To entice spectators to assist in waste management initiatives, recycling bins, and garbage collection locations are offered.

Coming back to the match, At the Chepauk Stadium, Hardik Pandya declared that the Gujarat Titans (GT) would bowl first after winning the toss. The reigning champions will be welcomed by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the first time at the legendary Chepauk Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL), thus Dhoni will have his work cut out for him tonight.

At the renowned MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, a battle of wits looms large as Hardik Pandya’s GT and the Yellow Brigade resume their legendary rivalry. The victor of the “first versus second” match in Qualifier 1 will advance to the IPL finals for the first time this year. In the absence of star Ben Stokes, CSK plans to rely on veterans Ajinkya Rahane and Moeen Ali.
