Harry Brook made his presence in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Brook helped SRH earn their second victory of the year while competing against the home team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. Brook was the first batter to reach a century this season.
Before SRH faced the five-time champions in the greatest domestic cricket event, veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh praised the England star and noted that Brook has a variety of shots in his batting repertoire, particularly against the pace merchants.

Harbhajan Singh, who previously led the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, went into great detail about the SRH star’s batting shortcomings.
“Brook plays fast bowling well. He has an array of shots in his batting repertoire against fast bowlers. Also, he is getting good support from other SRH batsmen. This will give him a lot of confidence going forward,” Harbhajan told Star Sports.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, winners of the prestigious league’s 2016 season, decided to spend lavishly on Brook at the IPL 2023 auction. At the auction, Brook was purchased by the Hyderabad-based team for an astounding INR 13.25 crore. Despite a string of unsuccessful shots, Brook scored a century off just 55 balls as SRH defeated KKR in Kolkata. The Englishman earned 29 runs in his first three IPL matches before scoring his first century for the SRH team.
Mohammad Kaif, an Indian cricketer, stated that he anticipates MI to maintain its winning streak in their upcoming away game.
“Hopefully, we’ll see that old Mumbai Indians side against Sunrisers Hyderabad. MI of the old was known for its aggressive batting performances and the last two games were a testimony to that,” Kaif said.
