Ajinkya Rahane, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter, emphasized the importance of staying “positive” as they prepare for upcoming games in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. After suffering a defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC) by 20 runs in their previous match, the defending champions CSK are gearing up to face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next clash.
In a video shared on CSK’s official social media handle, Rahane highlighted the significance of belief, both in oneself and in teammates. He emphasized the need for continuous improvement, suggesting that the team should aim to enhance their performance in each game.
Reflecting on their loss against DC, Rahane mentioned that every match provides learning opportunities, and the team is focused on applying these lessons in their upcoming fixtures. Despite the setback, Rahane expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back and perform well against SRH.

“In this journey, you’re going to win matches, you’re going to lose matches. The important thing is to believe as an individual and also in your teammates. It’s also important to be positive. In every game, you tend to learn different things. As a team, if we can improve one per cent in every game, that’s what matters. As a team, we are really confident, and not thinking too much about the Vizag game. Obviously learning from it and coming here in Hyderabad and looking forward to this game,” Rahane said.
In the upcoming IPL 2024 match, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 5 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Both teams have had a mixed start to the season, with SRH securing 2 points from 3 matches and CSK with 4 points from 3 matches.
CSK has a dominant record against SRH, having won 14 out of their 19 encounters. However, SRH will be looking to turn the tables this time around. The pitch in Hyderabad is known to be a batsman’s paradise, with high-scoring matches being a common occurrence.
Considering their past performances and the pitch conditions, CSK might have a slight edge over SRH in this match.
