Zaka Ashraf, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has resigned from his position. He made this announcement after leading a managing committee meeting in Lahore on Friday. His resignation will be submitted to the respected Patron Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.

Ashraf became the PCB chairman in July last year, succeeding Najam Sethi. This marks his second term in the position. In this period, Pakistan didn’t perform well in the Asia Cup and the World Cup and lost the Test series against Australia by a massive 3-0 margin.  Unfortunately, his recent tenure is viewed as one of the most challenging periods in Pakistan Cricket history.
