On Day 2, Jaiswal confidently rotated the strike against Shoaib Bashir from the beginning. 

However, he faced challenges against pacer James Anderson, getting beaten on the outside edge multiple times. Despite the pressure, Jaiswal remained composed, resisting his aggressive instincts and opting to patiently handle Anderson’s deliveries.

Jaiswal reached the milestone on the second ball of the 102nd over. He sent a full toss from Shoaib Bashir to the square leg boundary for a four, crossing the 200-run mark.

Right from the start of the 102nd over, Jaiswal signaled his intention to achieve the milestone quickly.

 Bashir bowled a quicker delivery on Jaiswal’s pads, and he hit it for a maximum over the square leg boundary, reaching 197. The following delivery from Bashir was a perfect opportunity for Jaiswal, and he didn’t miss it, capitalizing on the bowler’s mistake. Jaiswal now stands as the third-youngest Indian in Test cricket history to achieve a double century, following Vinod Kambli and Sunil Gavaskar.
