WPL 2023: BCCI promotes free entry of fans on Women’s Day for RCB vs GG

March 8 marks International Women’s Day. To commemorate the same, BCCI has taken a huge decision. In the match between Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore to be held this Wednesday, BCCI has allowed free entry to everyone. Fans can get to the Brabourne stadium and enjoy the action-packed match between the two WPL giants without having to pay for the tickets.

The announcement was made on the giant scoreboard screen in the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore held at the Brabourne Stadium. In addition to the announcement on the scoreboard, the official Twitter handle of the Women’s T20 Challenge (WPL) also tweeted about it.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had recently announced that all matches of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in India will have free entry for women and girls. This move was made with the aim of promoting and encouraging women’s cricket in the country.
The decision to offer free entry for women and girls is a step towards promoting gender equality in cricket and encouraging greater participation of women in the sport. It is hoped that this initiative will attract more women and girls to attend cricket matches, which will help to increase the popularity of the game and inspire more women to take up cricket as a sport.

It’s worth noting that this is not the first time that the BCCI has taken steps to promote women’s cricket in India. In recent years, the board has increased the number of domestic tournaments for women and the introduction of the Women’s Premier League is also a step towards the same. The Brabourne Stadium can hold up to 50,000 spectators at once and BCCI would hope that free entry would bring in more fans to the stadium.
