World Cup Fever: Gilchrist’s Semifinal Picks

ICC Cricket World Cup is just knocking on the door. The whole cricket fraternity is going crazy. From fans to cricket experts, all are going crazy. Everyone has their dream playing XI in their head. This time Australian Cricket legend Adam Gilchrist has come with his top four semi-finalists in the ICC Cricket World Cup.

This edition of the World Cup is raising Curtains on October 5. England and New Zealand will play the inaugural match of this tournament. England was the previous World champion. This time New Zealand will try their best to take the revenge.

India and Australia will face each other in a three-match ODI series in India. This series will start on September 22. Before the tournament, this series will be helpful for Australia. They will have a chance to play on the Indian pitch before the World Cup. Through that, it will be a bit easier for them to understand the conditions better than others.

Gilchrist’s comment:

Former Australian keeper batter Adam Gilchrist named his fav four teams, who can feature in the semifinals. He stated,” I think India and Pakistan could feature, Australia and England are another two teams.”

Comment on India vs. Australia Series:

While talking about the series between India and Australia he said,” Australia will learn a lot from their efforts in South Africa when they come to India.” Later he added,” They have got three games before the World Cup against India. So, they will have a bit more of a full-strength squad there. That might tell us a bit about where they are at.”

These four teams are the semifinalists according to Gilchrist. All the team is giving their best to name the biggest title. Recently India won the Asia Cup with a huge margin. Throughout the tournament they were unstoppable. Because of the good balance in every department, they become the winners of Asia. Other teams also have good balance before entering the big stage. It is time to see who will be the new World champion.
