England will host Windies for a solitary T20 after the completion of the 3-Tests series. The match will be played at Chester-le-Street on September 16. Windies have announced the squad and the big names of the country have been included in the 15-men squad.

Ashley Nurse has been recalled to the squad and he will replace Samuel Badree who is unavailable due to prior commitments. Even though Nurse hasn’t bagged any wickets in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League yet he is an effective off-spinner.

Apart from the one change, the rest of the squad is the same as the one that played against India last month. Windies had defeated India in the solitary T20 and it had witnessed the return of the giant of the T20 format – Chris Gayle. The left-hander will once again be under the scanner versus England.

Apart from Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Carlos Brathwaite and Marlon Samuels are the other big names of the format that will feature in the squad. The squad has a good mix of youth and experience and the T20 Champions will pose a challenge to the home side.

“We have a good mix of experience and youth that should adapt to English conditions quickly,” chairman of selectors, Courtney Browne said. “Coming off the series win against India in the Caribbean in July our expectations is to see the team play a highly competitive game and bring that T20 Caribbean atmosphere to England,” he added.

The T20 match will be a repeat of the final of the 2016 World T20 where Windies pipped the English side in the last over to be crowned the Champions for the second time. The English side also possesses some extraordinary T20 talents which makes the contest a mouthwatering one.
