Who Glenn McGrath Thinks Was Tougher Between Tendulkar & Lara

One of the many debates that is never-ending in world cricket is the comparison between Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar. In a recent interview, the Aussie legend Glenn McGrath gave his vote as to who he thinks was tougher to face with the ball.

McGrath On Lara & Tendulkar

The cricket fans in the 90s often get nostalgic about the two greats, Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar. While some are fans of the classic Lara, some are in awe of the ‘God’ of cricket Tendulkar. These two are great friends in reality and whenever they meet give some great candid frames for the cricket lovers. A question that has been asked to the fans and experts who watches these two playing is that who was better. The same question is asked to the bowlers as well who faced both legends from India (Tendulkar) and West Indies (Lara).

Glenn McGrath was asked the similar question in an interview recently. The fearsome Aussie bowler gave his vote to Lara and said that it was slightly harder to bowl Lara than Tendulkar. He explained, “That was Brian. He never changed his game. I may have got him out 15 times, but he also scored big hundreds and double hundreds against us when both me and Warnie were playing together for Australia.” The 50year-old also added that Lara was able to achieve anything on his day. “When it was his day, he could do absolutely everything. Sachin was equally as good, but there was something about Brian when he could just keep going and he was slightly harder to bowl to that Sachin. He was fearless.”

McGrath On Current Bowlers

McGrath was obviously asked about the current set of bowlers in the world. He picked up all Australian names along with Jasprit Bumrah and Kagiso Rabada in the interview with the Times of India.

“All Aussies. Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc. (Laughter). But seriously, Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah and Kagiso Rabada. I like Neil Wagner too.”
