Who Are The 3 Players To Get Nominated For The ICC Men’s Player Of The Month Award? 

The International Cricket Council has finally released its list of players that it has nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award. The list included two players from Australia and one from India who hosted the 2023 World Cup this time. From Australia, it has nominated Aussie legends Glenn Maxwell and Travis Head and from India, it is none other than Mohammad Shami who left everyone in awe by registering brilliant records. 

Shami’s spellbounded records 

Mohammad Shami had a breathtaking World Cup campaign as he emerged as the leading wicket taker with 25 scalps with15 of them coming in November itself at an average of 12.06. Despite coming as a late edition and having played just 8 matches, he really had a remarkable campaign in the tournament.The golden moment came in the semi final match against New Zealand where the 33-year old pacer picked up 7 wickets for 57 runs, the highest for any bowler in a World Cup knockout stage.

The Kangaroos dominance

All rounder Glenn Maxwell and batsman Travis Head did a commendable  job for their team making heads turn yet again and again in the World Cup. Six-time World Cup champions Australia was extraordinary this time and emerged as the top order team despite losing the first two games in the beginning of the tournament. 

Talking about Maxwell, he smashed an unbelievable 292 despite severe cramps in the match against Afghanistan. Maxwell achieved this stupendous mark when the Aussies were already down with 7 wickets for 92 runs. His knock of 292 will be surely written in the World Records Book, inspiring generations to come. On the other hand, Travis Head’s match winning performance helped Australia  clinch the ICC World Test Championship. He also contributed with a dominating performance thereafter in the 2023 World Cup final where he smashed a brilliant century to guide his team win their sixth World Cup title.
