Kevin Pietersen took a dig at Yuvraj Singh on Saturday. But wait, there’s nothing related to cricket here. Two football fans basically shared a banter after the FA Cup semi-final.
The backstory
Chelsea claimed a 3-1 win over Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday. This gave a chance to Kevin Pietersen who is a Chelsea fan to tease Yuvraj Singh who is a well-known United lover. Before Saturday’s match, Chelsea had suffered three consecutive defeats to Manchester United this season across competitions. But on Saturday Olivier Giroud scored just before the half-time whistle and gave Chelsea the lead. While everyone expected Manchester United to win, match took a different turn. As the second half began, Chelsea took another lead. The last goal was scored by Chelsea at the 74th minute of the match and by then the match was almost gone to them. So when the scenario changed on Saturday, Pietersen did not miss the opportunity. He took to his social media to have a fun conversation with Yuvi.
The conversation
Pietersen tweeted: “Hi, @YUVSTRONG12- you ok mate?!”. Yuvraj’s response came in no time as he wrote,” Haha no mate I’m not I’m hurting”.

Pietersen was not ready to let him go so easily. He was in mood to continue the chat so he asked, “Just checking. Lots of talk a few weeks ago. Just checking you still wanted to chat?! Hope you recover well! You can come watch Champions League as my guest anytime.” A disheartened Yuvraj Singh was certainly not enjoying the conversation and he just wrote, “Hmmm let’s see we never give up @ManUtd”.
Two cricketers did stop after that but that did not stop Manchester United fans to post statistics from their clash against Chelsea. They showed how United are still way ahead with the total number being 3-1 in their favour.
