“WHAT A STAR!” Jos Buttler Applauds Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Stellar Performance Against England

Team India just finished their third Test match against England with a massive win. England faced a massive defeat of 434 runs and took the lead of the series by a 2-1 margin. Though India played a team game, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal caught the limelight by scoring to consecutive double-centuries. After watching his masterclass, the entire cricket community is praising the young lad. English great Jos Buttler also praised this youngster after his terrific show in Rajkot.

Yashasvi’s Prowess:

Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased remarkable resilience and skill during India’s second innings, despite facing adversity. The 22-year-old, after crossing his first century, unfortunately, had to retire hurt at 104 off 133 due to a back issue on Day 3. His return on Day 4, post Shubman Gill’s dismissal at 91, was nothing short of spectacular. Jaiswal added another 110 runs in just 103 balls, hitting a total of 12 sixes – a feat matching the record held by the legendary Wasim Akram.

In the ongoing series, Jaiswal has been the standout performer, amassing 545 runs in six innings with an impressive average of 109 and a strike rate of 81.10. His monumental comeback on Day 4, finishing with an unbeaten 214 off 236 balls, marked his second double-hundred in the series, making him the third-youngest player to achieve this milestone. Moreover, Jaiswal’s explosive innings secured the record for the joint-most sixes in a Test series.

The partnership between Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan, amassing 172 off 158 balls, played a crucial role in India setting a daunting target of 557 runs. This proved insurmountable for the England side, who succumbed to a quick and decisive defeat, getting bundled out for a mere 122 runs. The result was an embarrassing 434-run loss for the England team captained by Ben Stokes. Jaiswal’s exceptional performance has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the series.

Jos Buttler’s Praises:

After showing his prowess, Jos Buttler praised Yashasvi Jaiswal. After sharing the video by Rajasthan Royals, Buttler wrote, “Shame he’s doing it against England but v hard not be so happy for @yashasvijaiswal28. Getting everything he deserves from his talent, hunger and work ethic. WHAT A STAR!”

The 33-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman had a front-row view of Jaiswal’s outstanding performance in the IPL 2023 season. The Englishman rightfully acknowledged the young cricketer’s recent success, considering it well-deserved. Jaiswal, opening the batting for Rajasthan Royals alongside England’s limited-overs captain Jos Buttler, stole the spotlight from the experienced player.

In a stellar season, Jaiswal accumulated 625 runs in 14 matches, boasting an impressive strike rate of 163.61 and an average of 48.08. His remarkable contribution included five half-centuries and a century, establishing him as a standout performer in the tournament.
