Watch: Virat Kohli plays the helicopter shot in the nets and then teases MS Dhoni

Indian skipper Virat Kohli may be the most aggressive cricketer on the field yet he is not too far behind when it comes to wittiness. He recently showcased his other side of the behavior when he teased MS Dhoni who was walking into bat in the nets during the Sri Lanka tour.

Virat was batting in the nets against a spinner and was launching sixes after sixes over the head of the bowler. Suddenly, he danced down the track to one of the deliveries and tonked it down the ground in a style that MS Dhoni is known for.

His bat rotated 180 degrees after connecting with the ball and emulated Dhoni’s trademark helicopter shot. That was not all. When he finished his nets, Dhoni walked in towards the same net. He gestured the helicopter swing by rotating the bat in the air for quite a while.

The former Indian captain was unflustered and remained calm as usual. He didn’t respond to Kohli’s teasing and went about his business and walked to the batting crease. It was a sight that showed how contrasting the two characters are. Where Kohli loves to express, Dhoni hardly shows any emotions.

Troubleless Sri Lanka

The tour of Sri Lanka has been pretty comfortable for Virat Kohli & Co. as they have been unbeaten so far. First, they thumped the hosts in Test series and enforced a 3-0 whitewash. Then, their form continued in the ODI series as well where they absolutely decimated Sri Lanka in the first match.

Where Kohli scored a magnificent 82 not out off just 70 balls to guide India to a comfortable victory, Dhoni didn’t get a chance to bat in the first ODI. The wicketkeeper-batsman would be hoping to get a few chances to spend time in the middle as his form would be very crucial for India for the preparations of the 2019 ODI World Cup which is less than 2 years away from now.
