“Virat Kohli is like my son” Chetan Sharma Eagerly Awaits for Virat Kohli’s Comeback, Envisions Century Milestone

In the Indian cricket, Virat Kohli is the biggest asset. Over the years, he has served Indian cricket and created unbelievable records in front of a global audience. At the time when he stepped down from Team India’s captaincy, a lot of buzz was created on that matter. After that, ex-BCCI selector Chetan Sharma created some debateful remarks on some current and ex-players. Recently, he talked about Kohli’s return and Rohit’s brilliance.

Chetan Sharma on Kohli:

Former India selector Chetan Sharma, who resigned amid controversy over alleged inappropriate remarks in a sting operation, has expressed his close bond with Virat Kohli. In his first interview affirmed that he eagerly awaited Kohli’s return to action and emphasized his commitment to not saying negative things about the star batter. The sting operation had previously led to Chetan’s removal from the BCCI.

He said, “Virat Kohli is like my son, and why would I say bad things about him? I always pray for his well-being. I hope he comes back and scores centuries to reach the 100-ton mark in international cricket. Virat is an icon of Indian cricket. I am waiting for his return.”

On Rohit Sharma’s Brilliance:

After Virat Kohli stepped down from captaincy, Rohit Sharma took charge of the team. After being appointed as the captain, he always carried the team on high. In 2023, under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Team India won the Asia Cup. In the World Cup, Team India performed exceptionally well. Being unbeaten, they qualified in the finals. Chetan Sharma praised current India captain Rohit Sharma, commending him for making sacrifices for the team’s benefit.

Sharma said, “Rohit Sharma is among the few players who sacrificed himself for the team. He led from the front, and once your openers score 80 runs in 10 overs, the rest of the batters can take the total to 300 runs.”

Later he added, “Rohit started going after the bowlers in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, but his plans didn’t succeed due to pitches and some other reasons, but he was on the top of his game in the ODI World Cup. India crushed the opponents in the event.”
