The Under 19 Cricket World Cup is a great platform for the upcoming young players to prove themselves and secure their place in the future.The ongoing match between India and Nepal ended with India beating Nepal by 132 runs at Mangaung Oval on February 2, Friday.
Dhas’s match-winning performance helped India mark another win :
Dhas won the Player of the Match award. He was pretty much satisfied with his performance and stated it was a birthday gift for his father. The young Captain, Uday Saharan registered a convincing win for India.
In the post-match presentation, he said “I feel very good. Yesterday, Sir told me that you would get a chance up front and I grabbed the chance. The need was there for the team, and I was talking with Uday to take it deep and get a big score. I was telling my dad that this innings is your birthday gift”. He went on to say that the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar is his role model and that is one of the reasons why he wears jersey No.10. “My role model is Sachin Tendulkar and that’s why I wear 10,” he added.

Coming to the match, India skipper Uday Saharan won the toss and opted to bat first. Both Saharan and Dhas took care of the innings by sharing a partnership of 215 for the fourth wicket. Saharan scored 100 off 107 deliveries, including nine boundaries whereas Dhas scored 116 off 101 balls with 11 boundaries and three sixers.
The duo helped India give tough competition to Nepal as they set a total of 297. Gulsan Jha was the key player for Nepal as he took three wickets. Saumy Kumar Pandey performed excellently as he claimed 4/29 and Arshin Kulkarni claimed 2 wickets. Murugan Abhishek, Raj Limbani, and Aaradhya Shukla claimed 1 wicket each.
