Australia registered a swashbuckling victory against India yesterday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Aussies lifted their 6th World Cup trophy after witnessing a 6-wicket victory against the Men in Blue. The high end approach with which the Aussies played throughout the tournament is just commendable. Despite losing in the first two matches, it came back stronger than ever, with Pat Cummins leading his team exceptionally well from the front.

A team full of passion and liveliness

The whole of team Australia is full of hard core strength and power striking ability to emerge stronger each time they play against a team. Well, the fact that Australia has won the World Cup for 5 times is enough to reckon their magnificent potential as a team. Despite losing the first two games and emerging at the 4th spot among the top 4 qualifiers, they did an extraordinary job yesterday with winning the 2023 World Cup.

Head’s head is high up!

Australian batsman Travis Head’s match winning knock of 137 runs off 120 deliveries stood as the highest chase in a World Cup final match. His brilliancy saw him hitting a total of 15 boundaries and 4 sixes, registering his name in the world record books for this exceptional feat. Below him stands Sri Lanka’s Aravinda de Silva who played an unbeaten knock of 107 runs against Australia to win the 1996 World Cup. Aravinda is followed by India’s Gautam Gambhir who in the 2011 World Hit hit a high of 97 runs against the Sri Lankans.

The dedication and consistency with which he played yesterday made India’s bowling unit strive for his wicket. He remained unbeaten until Mohammed Suraj dismissed him at 137 when the Aussies needed just 2 runs to win the final match. Travis Head stood as the Man of the Match, with Virat Kohli getting recognized as the Player of the Tournament.
