Hyderabad returned to the Elite Group of the Ranji Trophy in style, defeating Meghalaya by five wickets in the Plate Final. The match, played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, witnessed some exceptional performances from the Hyderabad team, particularly from G. Rahul Singh and captain Tilak Varma.
Chasing a target of 198 runs on the fourth day, Hyderabad started confidently, with G. Rahul Singh aggressively pushing towards victory. However, his dismissal for 62 brought Tilak Varma and Rohit Rayudu together, who added a crucial 82 runs to seal the win for Hyderabad.

Post the significant achievement, Hyderabad youngster Tilak Varma was spotted at the holy Tirupati Balaji Temple with his family. The photo soon became viral over the social media.
Tilak Varma, in particular, looked set for another century but fell for 64, caught in the slips. Rohit Rayudu also played a vital role, scoring 34 runs before getting out. Both players were involved in some heated exchanges with the Meghalaya players during the match.
The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president, A. Jagan Mohan Rao, announced a cash incentive of ₹10 lakh for the Hyderabad team for winning the Ranji Trophy Plate Group championship final. Additionally, players like Nitesh Reddy, Tanay Thyagarajan, Pragnay Reddy, and captain Tilak Varma received individual cash rewards for their performances.
Hyderabad’s victory was a result of a strong team effort, with players stepping up in crucial moments to secure the win. The team’s return to the Elite Group marks a significant achievement and sets the stage for their future endeavors in the Ranji Trophy.
