“The Owner got the text from” Kate Cross Reveals Virat Kohli’s Surprise Request for RCB Women’s Team

Before starting the IPL 2024, the entire cricket world experienced some exceptional T20 of the Women’s Premier League. After having a bad season in the first season of WPL, RCB-W bounced back in this season. They ended the tournament being the winner. That was the first trophy for the franchise. After wrapping up the WPL’s second season, RCB-W player Kate Cross revealed a secret about it.

RCB’s Dream Come True Moment:

As the first season of WPL took place in 2023, RCB had a forgettable season. They lost the first few matches in a row. Out of 8 matches they played, registered only 2 wins. That was not the desired performance by the team. But in 2024, they bounced back. And ended the trophy for the first time for the franchise.

In the final match, the girls delivered exceptional performance on the big day. They won the trophy by defeating Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets. While bowling first, the bowlers showcased amazing talent. Shreyanka Patil was exceptional after securing 4 wickets in 12 runs. Sophie Molineux took 3 wickets in 20 runs. They stopped DC in 113 runs. While batting, Smriti scored 31 runs. Ellyse Perry was unbeaten on 35 runs and Richa Ghosh was unbeaten on 17 runs. They clinched the title by dominating the opponent.

Kate Cross’s Revelation:

As this was the first trophy for the franchise, there was a festive mood all around the team. After the exceptional win, Virat Kohli congratulated the team over the video call and celebrated the joyous moment. During the RCB Unbox event at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the men’s Royal Challengers Bangalore team gave a guard of honor to the victorious women’s side. Led by Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, they celebrated the Women’s Premier League title win, with captain Smriti Mandhana leading a lap of honor.

Recently, Kate Cross revealed that the owner of the team received a text from Virat Kohli, telling them to honor the women’s team. She said, “The Owner got the text from Virat Kohli saying, we should honor the girls on Sunday.” That caught the attention.
