“The atmosphere is the same whether we win or lose”: Ajinkya Rahane on CSK

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, MS Dhoni‘s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will try to surpass league leaders Rajasthan Royals (RR) with a victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday. In game 33 of the lucrative league at the illustrious Eden Gardens, the four-time champions are ready to square off against the defending champions KKR.

With a win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will attempt to overtake league leaders Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The four-time winners are prepared to face the reigning champions KKR in game 33 of the prestigious league at the famous Eden Gardens.

Before CSK’s away game against KKR at the Eden Gardens, former chief selector Krisnamachari Srikkanth gave Star Sports an interview in which he credited Dhoni with motivating his team to perform well. The former Indian cricketer praised Dhoni while using Rahane as an example.

Srikkanth said

“MS Dhoni trusts his teammates, and that is the reason he backs them to give their best. There are many such case studies, and the latest one is that of Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane himself admitted that Dhoni only asked him to enjoy his game. And then everyone knows what Rahane did after going in the field,” Srikkanth said.

Rahane made the best of his late selection in the Chennai-Mumbai first Clasico of the IPL 2023 by scoring the game-winning run at Mumbai to aid Dhoni’s team in defeating Rohit Sharma and company.

A magnificent 61 off 27 balls was played by the hometown hero against the Mumbai Indians. Prior to the IPL 2023, Rahane was removed from India’s Test squad. Rahane was signed by Dhoni’s CSK for INR 50 lakh at the auction after a hamstring injury curtailed his IPL campaign with KKR last year.

Rahane has made 138 runs for the Yellow Brigade in 4 outings while batting at a strike rate of 181.57 in the IPL 2023.

“I was really happy when CSK picked me. How they treat each and every individual. Before this I had heard from many players, it is really like a family. I know now. I have played under Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) a lot of times in the Indian team, at CSK it was for the first time. I am really enjoying: the atmosphere is the same whether we win or lose,” Rahane had said.
