CPL 2021
CPL 2021 will be the 9th season of the Caribbean Premier League. CPL is one of the most loved tournaments of cricket. The 9th Edition of Caribbean Premier League will begin on August 26, and the final of the tournament will be played on September 15. The defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders will take Guyana Amazon Warriors in the opener of the tournament. CPL 2021, two teams changed their names, the Barbados Tridents became the Barbados Royals, and the St Lucia Zouks became the Saint Lucia Kings. The matches of CPL 2021 will begin at 7:30 PM IST and 4:30 AM Local time. All the matches will take place at a single venue Warner Park in St Kitts and Nevis. The tournament will be played behind closed doors. CPL 2021 will be played with no crowds inside the stadiums.
CPL History
The CPL was initiated in the year 2013 by the Cricket West Indies. The first edition was played with six teams in a double round-robin format, followed by the semi-finals and final.
A Glimpse From the Last Season
CPL 2020 was the 8th season of the Caribbean Premier League. Trinbago Knight Riders won the CPL title for the third under the captaincy of Kieron Pollard. Also, Trinbago Knight Riders was on the top of the CPL point table with a +1.294 Net Run Rate and 20 points. L Simmons of Trinbago Knight Riders was the leading run-scorer with 356 runs from 11 innings finished the tournament as its top scorer. On the other hand, Scott Kuggeleijn of St. Lucia Zouks took the most wickets in the tournament.
CPL 2021 Full Schedule
