Star New Zealand all rounder replaces Will Jacks for RCB

New Zealand off spinning all rounder Michael Bracewell will replace the injured Will Jacks for the Royal Challengers Bangalore

Jacks, who was injured and had to withdraw from the competition, cost the franchise INR 3.2 Crore. In the most recent One-Day International between England and Bangladesh in Mirpur, Jacks suffered a muscular injury while fielding.

Jack’s injury was a major setback because he had intended to utilize the competition to gain experience playing in Indian conditions and strengthen his case for a spot in England’s team for the 50-over World Cup later this year.

This winter, Jacks made his debut for England in all three of the major international competitions, earning his T20I and Test caps in Pakistan before making his ODI debut in Bangladesh.

Bracewell record

Bracewell, who will take his position, has appeared in 16 T20Is, scored 113 runs, and taken 21 wickets. He’ll sign on with RCB for his starting salary of INR 1 crore. Bracewell was not purchased at the December auction and has never participated in the IPL before.

Michael Bracewell was the lone warrior for New Zealand against India in an ODI series in January. Bracewell nearly gave the Black Caps the victory against India in the first ODI in Hyderabad when he hammered 140 runs off just 78 balls. Two months later, the devastating hitting he displayed in that game has earned the New Zealand all-rounder an IPL deal.

The Bengaluru-based team’s reliance on players like Kohli, Faf, Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell, and Reece Topley will be significant. Bracewell provides stability to the Royal Challengers Bangalore batting order. Late in the batting order, he is a right-arm off-break bowler who can smash boundaries.
