Here are all the teams in group A and B

For the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup, the teams have been divided into two groups, namely group A and group B to compete in the tournament. The winner of Sri Lanka vs Scotland will be termed as qualifier-1 and put in group A, while the other team will be termed as qualifier 2 and put in group B.

Australia, India, New Zealand and Pakistan are in Group A while South Africa, England, West Indies, and hosts Bangladesh form Group B, as revealed in the fixtures announcement earlier this week.

Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu on UAE’s Eshe Oza in the semi finals

The Sri Lankan Women’s team has no doubt lived up to its reputation by winning 5 matches in a row. However, the team got a big scare in the semi finals as UAE’s Eshe Oza almost took their chance away at getting selected for the T20 World Cup.

“Udeshika [Prabhodhani] bowled really well, so we got her [Esha Oza’s] wicket. That wicket was massive for us because otherwise, we would have missed the World Cup. As a captain, I am tensed [about such hiccups], but the players and the staff were very happy with our performance because we won the semi-final, even if it was at the last moment,” Chamari Athapaththu said as quoted by ICC.
