Snehasish Ganguly COVID-19 positive

According to source’s version to PTI, Snehasish Ganguly, the elder brother of Sourav Ganguly tested positive for COVID-19. Snehasish is also the general secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal. As the brothers live in the same house, following the protocol Ganguly home quarantined himself upon getting the reports of his brother. “The reports arrived late in the evening. As per health protocols, even Sourav will have to be in-home quarantine for a stipulated period,” news agency PTI quoted a source close to Ganguly as saying.

A CAB official disclosed, “He was suffering from fever for the last few days and his test report came positive today. He’s been admitted to Belle Vue Hospital.” The 55-year-old is otherwise doing fine reportedly.

Avishek Dalmiya in home isolation

On the other hand, the president of Cricket Association of Bengal Avishek Dalmiya also had to go for home isolation as they had met last week. The agenda was to discuss with Kolkata Police about giving away a space of the galleries as a quarantine facility for the officers testing positive for the virus. Dalmiya agreed on Thursday, “Yes, I would be undergoing home quarantine as per required protocol.” He added, “Other than having a mild temperature, he (Snehasish) is all right at the moment.”

Even Sourav Ganguly had mentioned few days back that Snehasish visits their factories daily which makes him more exposed to the chances of getting infected by the COVID-19. Ganguly who turned 48 a week back has been busy planning for IPL and India’s upcoming cricket schedule. As per his version, the BCCI would try to host the league here in India only. But the growth cases in India still does not give any certain picture of the same.
