A lot of buzz was created over Shubman Gill’s form, he scored a magnificent century in the last match. He played a knock of 104 runs in just 55 balls. Along with that, Sai Sudharsan scored his maiden IPL century playing a knock of 103 runs in 51 balls. Those knocks boosted the team’s innings.
After that exceptional batting display in the first innings, the Gujarat Titans bowlers also created magic. Mohit Sharma who was criticized for his poor performances in the past few games, performed outstandingly. While conceding 31 runs, he secured 3 wickets. Rashid Khan secured 2 wickets in 38 balls. Umesh Yadav and Sandeep Warrier ended up taking one wicket each.
With those exceptional performances, Gujarat Titans registered a 35-run win against Chennai Super Kings. With that exceptional win, the Gujarat Titans jumped up to the 8th position of the points table. That was a huge boost as they scored 10 points till now.
Gill Expressing Happiness:
After a long wait for the win, Gujarat Titans finally experienced their long-desired win. The entire team was happy after the win. As the match ended, Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill talked about the victory. He said, “It feels special (the century and win). It was a must-win game for us, against Chennai, that too at our home ground. It feels that we have crossed a hurdle and two more to go. This is a team of miracles and I have experienced it with GT. You never know it with this time. Hopefully, we will do more magic in the remaining games.”
Gill scored the first century in this season of the IPL and became the player of the match. After that magnificent century, he said, “I was focused on what I wanted to do and had no doubts. I thought I could execute everything I wanted.”
Gujarat Titans will play their last two matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both are must-win for the team. Their qualification scenario is difficult but they are hopeful about that.
