In a tragic incident, a jawan of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) assigned to Sachin Tendulkar’s security team allegedly committed suicide. The individual, identified as Prakash Kapde, reportedly shot himself with his service gun at his residence.
Kapde, 39 years old, had taken a quick trip to his ancestral home before the unfortunate incident occurred. He is survived by his wife, two minor children, and a brother.
The tragedy took place early in the morning at around 1:30 am, as confirmed by Senior Police Inspector Kiran Shinde of Jamner Police Station. The exact reasons behind Kapde’s decision to take his life are still under investigation.
“As per initial inquiries, he may have chosen the drastic action owing to certain private reasons, but we are still waiting for all the details of the probe,” stated Mr. Shinde.
The Jamner Police have filed an accidental death report and sent Kapde’s body for an autopsy. They are conducting further investigations and speaking with his relatives, coworkers, and other acquaintances to understand the circumstances leading to the incident.
Given that Kapde was part of the VVIP security personnel for Sachin Tendulkar, the SRPF is expected to initiate an independent investigation into the matter.
