RR Unveils All-Pink Jersey, Honoring Rajasthan Women, For RR vs RCB

To bolster and endorse women-led development in Rajasthan, IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals has pledged to equip six homes with solar power for every six scored by both teams during their #PinkPromise match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 6 in Jaipur. This initiative aims to amplify support for women’s empowerment and sustainability efforts in the region, demonstrating Rajasthan Royals’ commitment to social and environmental responsibility through cricket.

The Special Jersy of RR:

During their Indian Premier League match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 6 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals unveiled their new all-pink jersey. This distinctive jersey was dedicated to the women of Rajasthan, underscoring the franchise’s commitment to gender inclusivity and empowerment. The team shared a video of the jersey launch on their official Twitter handle, featuring prominent players such as skipper Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Avesh Khan donning the pink attire.

The unveiling ceremony was graced by Rajasthan’s Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Rajasthan Royals’ head coach Kumar Sangakkara. This initiative not only celebrates the spirit of Rajasthan’s women but also highlights the franchise’s efforts to promote social causes and engage with the local community. Through this symbolic gesture, the Rajasthan Royals aim to foster a sense of unity and pride among fans while advocating for important societal issues.

The Big Announcement For This Special Work:

The Rajasthan Royals’ recent announcement coincides with their decision to dedicate their matchday kits to the cause of supporting the empowered women of Rajasthan and India through their social equity initiative, the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF). Currently holding the second spot on the points table, level with KKR, the team will sport special all-pink matchday kits adorned with the names of some of RRF’s female beneficiaries. This gesture is a tribute to their contributions and signifies respect for their endeavors.

Established in 2019 with the vision of ‘Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai,’ RRF focuses on providing opportunities for empowered women in Rajasthan, particularly in areas such as access to water, livelihoods, clean energy, and mental health support. Solar power, a key component of clean energy, not only fosters a sustainable environment but also enhances livelihood opportunities. Consequently, the Royals aim to energize as many homes as possible through the #PinkPromise match, aligning with their commitment to social responsibility and sustainability.

The Inaugural Activities of Special Initiative in Matchday:

The inaugural champions have announced a series of activities for matchday, beginning with performances by local Rajasthani women cultural artists at the renowned Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Additionally, a Rajasthani sand artist will create solar panel-themed sand art. The event will also feature women beneficiaries from the Foundation and inspirational women from Rajasthan. Fans can engage in an AR player booth outside the stadium concourse, providing an opportunity to join the Royals’ #PinkPromise celebration.

RR’s chief executive officer, Jake Lush McCrum said, “With the vision of ‘Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai’, the Foundation has positively impacted the lives of more than 15 million women in Rajasthan over the last five years, and our ambition is to create a rural transformation model which can be replicated and scaled up in not just other parts of Rajasthan, but also across the country. We are incredibly motivated by the awareness this match can provide and the funds that will be raised for this important project.”

On Wednesday afternoon, the Royals visited Sursingpura village to engage with the Foundation’s inspirational women leading transformation in the Sambhar block. The entire squad, along with support staff, participated in various activities aimed at shedding light on the community’s lifestyle and showcasing the Foundation’s work. As they prepare to face RCB on Saturday, the Royals aim to maintain their strong start to the 2024 season, driven by their commitment to empowering homes in Rajasthan through boundary-clearing performances.
