After winning the first Test match of the five-match Test series, England met India for the second Test match in Vizag. From the beginning, the match was interesting. On day 4, English batter Joe Root’s milestone added an extra star to that, while batting, Joe Root became the fifth player worldwide and the only second player of England to score 1000 runs in India. In the 31st over, Root reached his milestone when Ravichandran Ashwin was bowling.

The first batter C Lloyd completed 1000 runs in India with an average of 75.50. The second batter in the list and the first batter from England’s side to achieve this feat was Aleister Cook with a strike rate of 51.45. Root has become the second English batter to achieve this milestone with a strike rate of 45.59.

Root’s Dismissal and England’s Condition:

Joe Root achieved a remarkable feat in the longest format of cricket. But achieving this milestone, he was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin. In the last delivery of the 31st over, Root confidently steps forward but misjudges the ball’s flight, attempting a big swing across the line. Unfortunately, he only manages a thick top edge, easily caught at short third. Ashwin celebrates his third wicket, having skillfully deceived Root with a subtle change in flight. Root could have adjusted better, but kudos to Ashwin for outsmarting him!
