Rajat Patidar’s Blazing Batting: Four Consecutive Sixes Shine Against Mayank Markande

The 41st match of the IPL 2024 is turning out to be a great thriller. In that match, Sunrisers Hyderabad is facing off with Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. While RCB was batting first, Rajat Patidar played an exceptional half-century knock. But his four consecutive sixes caught the limelight. 

The ‘Six’ Filled Over:

While batting first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a great start. RCB batters were looking forward to boosting their innings with explosive knocks. Among all, RCB batter Rajat Patidar played an excellent innings of 50 runs in 30 balls including 2 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries. But his consecutive four sixes against Mayank Markande grabbed the limelight.

In the 11th over Mayank Markande came to bowl. On the third delivery of the over, Patidar was on the strike. Markande delivers a tossed-up full ball, reaching 86.5 kph, wide off the off-stump. Patidar steps forward and smacks it over long-off for a six, covering a distance of 86 meters.

The next six came in the very next ball. Markande bowls at the middle stump, and Patidar opts to hit downtown once more. Although he doesn’t strike it perfectly, he manages to connect well enough. Aiden Markram was standing at long-off, moves to his right but is unable to catch the high ball as it sails beyond his reach.

After two consecutive sixes, he went for the third one in the fourth delivery of the over. Markande bowled a googly at 83.2kph, and Patidar smashes it over deep midwicket for a six! He remains in his crease and hits it with the spin, resulting in a stunning shot.

The last six came in the fifth ball. Markande bowled a loopy delivery outside off at 73.5kph, and Rajat Patidar smacks it for his fourth consecutive six! He stretches out and elegantly lifts it over deep extra cover.

RCB’s Batting Brilliance:

After losing consecutive matches, Royal Challengers Bengaluru was all boosted up for this match. After winning the toss, Faf du Plessis opted to bat first. While opening the innings, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave a great start. After du Plessis was dismissed on 25 runs in just 12 deliveries, Virat Kohli played an exceptional innings of 51 runs in 43 balls. Rajat Patidar played an impactful innings of 50 runs in just 20 balls. Cameron Green was unbeaten on 37 runs in 20 balls. In 20 overs, Bengaluru scored 206-7.
