Purple Cap Holder of IPL 2023: Updated After DC vs KKR Match 28

In the first game of today’s doubleheader, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Virat Kohli, completed a convincing win over a struggling Punjab Kings. However, on the other hand, in the second game of the day, Delhi Capitals thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders to experience their first win of the season. Thus, after two intense games, the Purple Cap has seen quite a few changes.

Mohammed Siraj has emerged as a standout performer in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with his incredible bowling performances earning him the coveted Purple Cap. In six matches so far, Siraj has taken an impressive 12 wickets, showcasing his exceptional skills and ability to consistently trouble the opposition batsmen. His best figures came in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s win over the Punjab Kings in Mohali, where he picked up 4 wickets for just 21 runs, absolutely decimating the Punjab Kings’ batting order with his accuracy and pace. 

Chakravarthy continues to bamboozle

Varun Chakravarthy proved his mettle once again as he put in an impressive bowling performance for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Along with the rest of the spinners in the team, Chakravarthy emerged as the pick of the bowlers, with his mystifying spin bamboozling the opposition batsmen. Chakravarthy’s figures of 2/16 off his four overs, which included a maiden, were a testament to his exceptional skills and ability to keep the run-scoring under control. With nine wickets in the tournament so far, he currently occupies the 7th spot on the list of the highest wicket-takers (the Purple Cap), further establishing his reputation as a formidable bowler.
