Purple Cap Holder of IPL 2020: Updated After SRH vs KXIP Match 22

Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kings XI Punjab in every department today in the 22nd match of IPL 2020. After a classic batting show by their openers, the bowlers defended the target with absolute perfection.

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers ran through the SRH batting line up to bundle them up for just 132 runs within the 17th over. Apart from Nicholas Pooran, none of the KXIP batters could stand in front of the SRH bowling attack. While Pooran was their highest scorer with 70 runs, their second-highest run-scorers were KL Rahul and Simran Singh with 11 each. There’s no prize for guessing hence the domination SRH bowlers showed in the middle. Rashid Khan ended up with three scalps to his name in his four overs including one maiden for just 12 runs. Two of his wickets came in his last two balls of the day which means we could have maiden IPL hattrick in the next SRH fixture. Rashid Khan is occupying the 6th place in IPL 2020 Purple Cap table. T Natarajan, with two wickets to his name today managed to join the race. Natarajan is at 10th place.

From Kings XI Punjab, Mohammed Shami today could add only one wicket to his total tally of nine scalps so far in the league. Ravi Bishnoi took three for 29 runs in three overs whereas Arshdeep Singh picked up two for 33 runs in four overs. Shami is still one of the top five wicket-takers of the league with Bishnoi at 11th.
