Purple Cap Holder of IPL 2020: Updated After KKR vs SRH Match 8

IPL 2020 Purple remains the same after Match 8 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. In fact, none of the bowlers from these two sides have made it to the top 20 till now.

Kolkata Knight Riders bowled first and restricted SRH to 142/4. Pat Cummins finally showed his class and ended up as the most successful bowler of his side. He picked up one wicket but conceded only 19 runs in four overs at an economy of 4.75. Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell also picked up a wicket each for KKR. During the chase of Kolkata Knight Riders, Khaleel Ahmed gave the first major breakthrough as he scalped an important wicket of Sunil Narine for 0. But KKR had Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana to continue the show. Rana was then dismissed by T Natarajan and in space of 10 runs, KKR captain Dinesh Karthik was sent back for a duck by Rashid Khan. The top ten names of the Purple Cap table remains unchanged with Kagiso Rabada leading the race.
