The IPL fever is on and how! The second match of the season went to super over after a stunning encounter between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab. No wonder, the exciting match had some serious changes on the individual tables too. Mohammad Shami surpassed Lungi Ngidi to claim the top of the Purple Cap table after the second match.
As soon as Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed, Mohammad Shami delivered a brilliant over to make things more difficult for the Capitals. Shami sent back Prithvi Shaw (5) in the fourth over of the match and the Capitals started crawling at 9/2 in 3.3 overs. In the last delivery of the same over, he dismissed Shimron Hetmyer (13). In his next spell, he came back to scalp the wicket of Shreyas Iyer, the skipper of Delhi Capitals. Iyer was looking good and as a main batsman started to build the innings for his side. He was gone for a 32- ball 39 after hitting three sixes.
Shami is most certainly leading the Purple Cap table followed by Lungi Ngidi and Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin took 2/2 in one over before getting retired hurt.
