ICC Mens Cricket World Cup 2023 is about to wrap up its group stage and will be moving forward to the semifinal stage soon. All team showed their characters. But India shined the brightest. Before playing the last group stage, India was the only unbeaten team. All the players have shown great character throughout the tournament. Shreyas Iyer is one of them. Injury has always been a concern to Shreyas Iyer. After sustaining an injury earlier this year, Shreyas was out of cricket for months. In the Asia Cup, he made his comeback but again got a back spasm and didn’t play matches. Before the World Cup, India played a three-match ODI series against Australia. In the 2nd ODI of that series, Iyer scored a magnificent century in a pressured situation. That was an excellent knock.
After that, in the first match of the World Cup against Australia, he got out on a duck. That was a setback for him. In the match against Pakistan, he played an unbeaten half-century knock. He remained not out on 53 runs. Against Sri Lanka, he was amazing. He played an outstanding knock of 82 runs in 56 balls with 3 boundaries and 6 over-boundaries. His excellence continues even in the match against South Africa. In that match, he played a knock of 77 runs in 87 balls with 7 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries.

Shreyas is the responsible batter of the number 4 position of the Indian squad. This position is crucial. Iyer has played many match-winning knocks while batting in that position. He can convert his style according to the team’s needs. He can play quick innings. In this tournament, he played many knocks under pressured situations. As a result, India is ruling the tournament.
Performing the best in the tournament, Shreyas amazed everyone. Coach Rahul Dravid is also one of them.
