Orange Cap Holder of IPL 2023: Updated After RR vs CSK Match 37

Rajasthan Royals made a stunning return to winning ways as they thrashed Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter in Jaipur. After an intense game of bat and ball, the Orange Cap list has seen quite a few changes.

Gaikwad back in form, Conway diffused early

Ruturaj Gaikwad looked in an absolutely stunning form tonight, blasting 47 runs in 29 balls. He was hitting the ball to all parts of the ground before he top-edged one from Zampa that he was trying to hit for another six. Despite his heroics, CSK ended up losing the game by 32 runs. However, Gaikwad has made a huge leap in the Orange Cap list. Gaikwad, who was 7th on the list before the game started, has now jumped up to the 4th spot, just one behind his opening partner Devon Donway.

Conway did not look in the best of his form tonight as he was dismissed for just 8 in 16 balls. Conway seemed to be struggling from the first ball and never found his mark before being dismissed by Adam Zampa. Despite this, Conway has managed to retain his 3rd spot in the Orange Cap list. Conway now has 322 runs in 8 games, just 5 more than his teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Buttler back in top 10, Jaiswal also makes a return

Rajasthan Royals dynamic opening duo of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiwal have made a comeback into the top 10 list of the Orange Cap. Jaiswal, who was one of the top scorers during the initial stages of the league, has returned to the list almost after 2 weeks. Jaiswal was the pick of the batters tonight, scoring 77 runs in just 43 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Jaiswal has toppled Jos Buttler to become RR’s most successful batter this season. He has scored 304 runs in 8 games so far and is comfortably seated at the 6th spot in the Orange Cap list.

His opening partner, Jos Buttler, on the other hand could not play a charismatic inning tonight as we was dismissed for just 27 runs in 21 balls. Despite that, he has made a comeback in the top 10 list and is seated at the 9th spot with 271 runs.
