While fans expected a Rohit Sharma or Mahendra Singh Dhoni to inaugurate the IPL 2020 with a blast, the situation turned out be different. The first match of IPL 2020 saw Saurabh Tiwary and Ambati Rayudu rising to the occasions when the team required them the most.
After quick dismissals of Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock, Saurabh Tiwary helped Mumbai Indians build their innings. He scored 42 off 31 balls with three fours and one maximum. Thanks to his responsible batting, Mumbai Indians could reach 162/9. Not to forget, Tiwary’s inclusion surprised everyone at the toss. Chasing 163, Chennai Super Kings were reduced to 6/2 in no time. Ambati Rayudu along with Faf du Plessis took the charge to take the game forward. Rayudu scored a stunning 71 off 48 balls with six fours and three sixes. At present, he is leading the IPL 2020 Orange Cup table.
