New Inclusion to the Indian National Cricket Team’s T20I Squad for England Series

Rahul Chahar is likely to be called up in the T20I Indian National cricket team. Rahul Tewatia and Varun Chakravarthy failed fitness tests which might make way for Rahul Chahar in the national side for the shortest format.

Chahar to get a call soon

Rahul Tewatia and Varun Chakravarthy failed their respective fitness tests at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. So, now, according to a report published on Cricbuzz, Rahul Chahar might get a call to join the Indian T20I set-up. Chahar has been in the bubble since the Test series and so he becomes an automatic choice in such a scenario. The report also suggested that the leg-spinner was with the Indian team during the net session on Monday.

Chahar made his debut for India in 2019 and played his only international match against West Indies in the Caribbean. He has been successful for Mumbai Indians in the IPL over the last two seasons. His call-up was due for quite some time. On the other hand, Varun Chakravarthy will be missing out on a potential India debut for the second time. He was taken in the T20I squad for the tour of Australia but ruled out due to a shoulder injury back then.
