Moeen Ali Reveals His Top Five Indian Cricketers of All Time

In a recent interview with Samp Group, England all-rounder Moeen Ali shared his list of the top five Indian cricketers of all time. Unsurprisingly, his list was led by his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni, followed by Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Yuvraj Singh.

Ali praised Dhoni for his exceptional leadership and the trophies he brought to India as captain. He placed Kohli second, acknowledging his prowess as one of the best players in the world. Tendulkar, known for his unmatched batting records, secured the third spot in Ali’s list.

“Sachin is No.3 because of him being Sachin and I think he started the (art) of proper batting,” Ali remarked about the legendary cricketer. He then highlighted Sehwag’s unique style of play, especially in Test matches, where he dominated bowlers across formats.

“My favourite batter is Virender Sehwag because he was something different. The way he batted in Test matches, ODIs and T20s, he scored massively and he absolutely destroyed bowlers,” Ali praised Sehwag.

Finally, Ali mentioned Yuvraj Singh, emphasizing how he looked up to him as a batter. Ali admired Yuvraj’s batting style and mentioned that people have even compared him to the legendary all-rounder.

“The guy I looked up to as a batter…in terms of…of course I would try to copy up to a certain extent and people have compared me to him a little bit so it’s Yuvraj Singh,” Ali said about the former Indian cricketer.
