Mitchell Marsh is Set to Boost Australia by Re-Joining the Squad Before the Clash Against Afghanistan

The World Cup is coming closer to the semifinal stage. As the stage is coming closer, the matches are getting more exciting. Just a few matches are left for every team. They are hustling hard. Teams like India and South Africa have already qualified for the semifinals. The last two spots are remaining. Australia is eying the third spot. Before the remaining clashes, the team received good news. The Star opener will be joining the team before the next clash.

Marsh Ruterned:

Mitchell Marsh is the star opener of the Australian squad. He is in a great rhythm. He is scoring good runs almost in every match. But before their previous match, Marsh returned home due to personal reasons. After his departure, his fellow teammate Marcus Stoinis gave an update on him. He said, “ He’s got a family issue going on…he’s doing the right thing. He sent me a message last night saying, I’ll be home for a little bit, then I’ll be coming back to win this World Cup. That’s his mindset.”

Before the next clash, Australia got the news of Marsh’s arrival. After solving the personal issue, he will be joining the team before the match against Afghanistan. On November 7, Australia will be facing Afghanistan at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Marsh’s arrival is a great sign. He is in good form. Against Pakistan, he scored an amazing century. He played a knock of 121 runs in 108 balls. The Australian team missed him in the clash against England.

Australia’s Qualifying Scenario:

Australia is a strong team. They are the most successful team. They won the World Cup title five times. In this edition of the World Cup, they faced defeats in two matches. That was a downtime for them. After that, they came back and started winning consecutive matches. They are eying the third position of the points table to qualify in the top 4 positions.

There are some steps to qualifying for the semifinals for Australia. The first one is if they win today’s match against England and the next matches against Afghanistan and Bangladesh, they will be ending on 14 points. Then they will be qualifying directly.

Secondly, if they win two of the three remaining matches and end the group stage with 12 points, they will be qualified for the semifinal. The third chance for them is if they register only one win in three matches and their net run rate is better than the other teams like New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan then they will be in the top 4.
