LSG’s Strategic Moves: Unveiling Released Players and Powerhouse Retaintions for Upcoming Season

The cricket world is always exciting. The previous one and a half months went on experiencing thrillers of the World Cup 2023. Now all the cricket enthusiasts are geared up for the IPL 2024. All the franchises crossed the first step. On November 26, ten IPL franchises disclosed the released and retained players ahead of the next season. Lucknow Super Giants is a newcomer to the tournament. They made their entry in this tournament in 2022 along with Gujarat Titans. In the first season, they played in the knockout stage.

Lucknow Super Giants played their inaugural edition of IPL in 2022. That year, they performed extremely well. In the first year, KL Rahul was selected as the captain of the franchise. But in the 2023 edition, KL Rahul missed half of the IPL due to injury. While playing against Rajasthan Royals, he got injured. Krunal Pandya led the team in his absance.

Before the final day of retention, LSG made a valuable trade with Rajasthan Royals. They traded Avesh Khan to RR and took Devdutt Padikkal in the back. That is a valuable trade by the team. The released players are Jaydev Unadkat, Manan Vohra, Swapnil Singh, Daniel Sams, Karan Sharma, Arpit Guleria, Suryansh Shedge, and Karun Nair. 

LSG has an amazing squad. Their retained player’s list is out now. They retained KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Devdutt Padikkal, Ravi Bishnoi, Naveen Ul Haq, Krunal Pandya, Yudhvir Singh, Prerak Mankad, Yash Thakur, Amit Mishra, Mark Wood, Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan.

Auction Goals:

This is just the start of the IPL 2024. The big step is still to be taken. The auction for the IPL 2024 will be held in Dubai on December 19. For the first time in the history of the tournament, the auction is happening outside India. LSG is looking strong. They will try to grab more players from the big event.
