KL Rahul’s team LSG was an average performer this season, and they could not get to the playoffs either.

Narine’s fortunes turned when KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir made him an opening batsman. Narine had suddenly turned into an asset for the team under Gambhir’s mentorship.

“The feeling is overwhelming and I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday gift. I am enjoying my cricket at the moment – batting, bowling and fielding. What helps is when the team is winning.” Said Narine after the match ended.
