Man of the Match
Adam Zampa
Commentry
That’s it from this game! Australia become the second team to go through into the next round after South Africa. The World Cup action continues as the next game is between India and the USA. The team winning that game will ensure its qualification into the next stage. That match will begin at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT), but as always, you can join us in advance for the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!
The captain of Australia, Mitchell Marsh says that it was a great bowling performance and with the help around, it was a complete bowling effort. Feels that it is very important to qualify for Super 8 as early as possible. Hopes to win against Scotland and go into the Super 8 with good momentum. Lauds Adam Zampa for his effort and says that the team is lucky to have him. Adds that Zampa loves the big stages and delivers under pressure. Ends by saying that they have got their families here and with the wind around, they are enjoying it.
The captain of Namibia, Merwe Erasmus says it was a tough game. Adds that they were outplayed. Mentions a big side like Australia will expose you if you aren’t there mentally. Mentions they tried to fight fire with fire but that did not happen. Ends by admitting they weren’t good enough.
Adam Zampa is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliance with the ball. He says that it is a nice feeling to get the win and qualify for the Super 8 stage. Shares that the ball has been coming out of his hand nicely. Adds that he is being encouraged by the captain to pick wickets in the middle phase. Tells that cross-breeze was something they experienced in Barbados and it is something they need to take into account while playing here in the Caribbean.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
Namibia were just overpowered. They were no match for the Aussies. 72 was just never going to be enough but they’ll be happy they got a wicket but overall, they’ll be very disappointed with their performance.
A comprehensive win then for the Aussies and they have sealed their progression to the next round. This result was never in doubt once they bowled Namibia out for a low score, it was just a matter of how quickly they scored the runs and they have done it in no time. The openers came out all guns blazing and wanted to get on with it quickly. David Warner fell but Travis Head continued with Mitchell Marsh. The two continued to attack and in the end, they helped their side get over the line.

FOUR! As easy as you like! Mitchell Marsh with the winning runs and Australia are through to the Super 8 stage. Jack Brassell serves it on a length, around off, Mitchell Marsh gets on the front foot and drives it between cover and mid off for a boundary to take his side past the finishing line. Australia knock off the target in just 5.4 overs at the loss of a solitary wicket.

SIX! Picked the bones out of that did the Aussie skipper! Goes into the wicket and takes pace off as well, on off, Mitchell Marsh gets this one at a good height and he waits on it before smacking it over deep square leg for a maximum.

Nicely bowled! Rolls his fingers over the ball and pulls the length back a touch, on middle and leg, Travis Head goes for a heave across the line but gets undone by the slowness of the delivery as he swings too early and misses out.

FOUR! Three fours in a row and Head is getting this done in a hurry. At pace, on a length, on the off pole, Travis Head stays leg side of the ball and with a still head, drills it between cover and mid off for four more runs.

FOUR! Not quite off the middle of the bat but gets enough on it does Head. Fuller and slower, on off, Travis Head leans on it and drags the lofted stroke over mid on for yet another boundary. 17 runs away now Australia.

FOUR! Clever batting! Trumpelmann digs it in short, over middle, Travis Head gives himself a bit of room and uses the pace well to ramp it over short third for a boundary.

Leg bye! Comes from around the wicket and does not offer any pace. Gets the line wrong though as this is full and on the pads, Mitchell Marsh has a swipe but misses. The ball rolls off his pads on the leg side for a leg bye.
