Krunal Pandya’s acrobatic catch brings Lucknow back into the game

Krunal Pandya‘s acrobatics in the field gave Lucknow Super Giants some hope amongst the disdainful onslaught by the Chennai Super Kings.

KL Lucknow Super Giant had a shaky start with the ball after Rahul won the toss and elected to bowl first. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of Chennai Super Kings, made the most of it. The powerplay score of 79 runs by Gaikwad and opening partner Devon Conway is the highest in IPL history for CSK at the Chepauk. The CSK team, headed by MS Dhoni, lost to Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the season’s opening match at Ahmedabad. Additionally, they are up against a Lucknow Super Giants team that defeated Delhi Capitals in their opener with precision.

Krunal Pandya catch

Conway attempts the pull despite the fact that the ball was short. He just received elevation and missed the timing. It appeared as though the fielder would not catch it, but Pandya sprinted in from a deep backward square leg position and timed his dive precisely. Lucknow Super Giants‘s fielding has been excellent; the ball simply lands in his hands as he falls!

They had a 50-run victory going into this match. Nonetheless, it should be mentioned that CSK will be playing in front of their devoted home crowd at Chepauk Stadium this time. CSK haven’t played here since 2019, and over the years, many great teams have utterly failed to defeat them at home.

According to the experts, moving Shivam Dube up to No. 3 instead of Moeen Ali or Ben Stokes may not have been the best decision. When Dube was added later than Jadeja in the prior, it was viewed as a poor decision. It does make you wonder how Dube is able to bat. He is currently having trouble with 5 out of 9 balls, and CSK has gone roughly 9 balls without a boundary.
