KKR is a strong franchise in the IPL world. This team won the trophy two times. The last time they won the IPL trophy was in 2014. After that, they failed to conquer. Last year, Shreyas Iyer didn’t take part in the IPL because of his injury. Nitish Rana was captaining the team. This time Knights are charged up for a valuable inclusion. Kolkata Knight Riders released Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Aarya Desai, David Wiese, Narayan Jagadeesan, Mandeep Singh, Kulwant Khejroliya, Shardul Thakur, Lockie Ferguson, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee and Johnson Charles. Shardul Thakur didn’t have a good time in the last season. He failed to make an impact in the previous season. That is a big move by KKR management. The management also released two Bangladesh superstars. They released Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das. Shakib is an experienced all-rounder and Litton is a talented batter. Those are bold moves by the management.
The retaining player’s list is interesting. They retained Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Shreyas Iyer, Jason Roy, Sunil Narine, Suyash Sharma, Anukul Roy, Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy.
Purse Value and Target for the Next Season:
KKR released 12 players ahead of IPL2024. They have a purse value of 32.7 crore. There is a lot of opportunity to grab some power-packed players from the auction. The Auction for the IPL 2024 is scheduled for December 19. The program will be held in Dubai. The first time, the auction is happening outside of India.
KKR has a balanced side. They have good batting stars and power-hitters. In the auction, they will try to pick some classy bowlers. In the last season, they didn’t appear in the knockout stage. This time they will try hard to conquer the tournament.
