The Times of India reports that his condition is being closely monitored by the management, with the next few days crucial. Iyer’s absence will be felt, especially in the opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23.
But as per the recent reports, Shreyas Iyer is to feature in all IPL 2024 games, overcoming back injury worries, and ensuring his crucial presence throughout the tournament. KKR bought him in 2022. In that season, he led the team from the front. But due to a major injury, he missed the entire 2023 season. In 2024, the KKR squad is all set to play Iyer’s captaincy.
Iyer in Ranji Final:
After being snubbed from India’s Test squad for the last three Test matches. Iyer came back in domestic format. He played in the semifinal stage but struggled to score big runs. However, he came back in form in the final match against Vidarbha. After scoring low in the first innings, he played an excellent innings in the second innings. Even if the innings were unfortunate for him that knock helped the team score a fighting total.
After losing a few wickets quickly, Shreyas Iyer, Musheer Khan, and Ajiyanka Rahane carried Mumbai’s innings. Iyer missed his well-deserved century by feat. he was dismissed on 95 runs in 111 balls. He smashed 10 boundaries and 3 over-boundaries. Depending on those mighty performances, Mumbai won the match by 169 runs and lifted the trophy for the 42nd time.Â
