Kohli’s possible records in ODI series against Australia

India and Australia will take on each other for a three-match ODI series from March 17, Friday. The opening match of the series is scheduled to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Virat Kohli, former Indian captain has been in a good form and one of the main reasons for India retaining the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar series. In the upcoming ODI series as well, Kohli’s form would be important for Indian cricket team. Kohli, as an individual is also on the verge of breaking multiple records as well.

Scoring fastest 13000 ODI runs

This will be one massive record for Virat Kohli who has scored 46 One Day International centuries for India already. With a total of 12809 runs to his name Kohli could add 191 runs in the series and complete his 13000 ODI runs. Kohli who became the fastest to score 12000 ODI runs and that too against Australia, could also become the fastest to score 13000 ODI runs. Sachin Tendulkar currently holds the record to smash the same in 321 innings.

Most ODI hundreds against Australia

Kohli has recently smashed 75th international cricket century and out of them 16 have come against Australia. He has eight hundreds in the One day Internationals and if he manages to hit one more, Kohli will be equalling Sachin Tendulkar in scoring the highest number of hundreds in the fifty-over format against Australia. Sachin Tendulkar smashed nine ODI hundreds against Australia in his illustrated career.

Most Player of the Match award against Australia

Virat Kohli needs to bag one more Man of the Match award in the upcoming One Day International series against Australia, he will be owning the second-most Player of the Match awards against Australia. He is coming off a stunning 186-run knock against Australia in the fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar series that helped him get the Player of the Match award. Kohli, with another Player of the Match award will be joining the likes of Viv Richards and Ian Botham who both had won 10 each against Australia. Sachin Tendulkar is leading the list with 17 against Australia.
