KL Rahul has been the talk of the town following his rough patch since days. The out of form batter’s constant selection into the Indian cricket team has created quite a lot of controversies. While some want the team management to be tough on Rahul, some still believe in his capability.
Singh trusts KL Rahul
Meanwhile, former cricketers Aakash Chopra and Venkatesh Prasad have also got involved in a rift over the same issue. Harbhajan Singh also took to the Twitter asking everyone to leave KL Rahul alone.
Former India cricketer twitted following the chain of tweets between Prasad and Chopra, “Can we leave @klrahul alone guys ? He hasn’t done any crime. He is still a top player. He will come back strong. We all go thru such patches in international cricket. He is not the first one and last one. so please respect the fact that he is our own player and have faith.”
Singh on Gill vs Rahul
A couple of days ago as well Singh spoke about KL Rahul after the latter was removed from Indian team’s vice-captaincy on Sunday. He explained that Shubman Gill would be picked for the next match and that’s why he wasn’t named the vice-captain. “Yes because he is longer the vice-captain now. The team was just announced now and I feel the reason why he hasn’t been named the vice-captain is because Shubman Gill will be picked for the next match over KL Rahul.”
He further added, “Gill has been in terrific form of late, in ODIs and T20Is. He became the super hero and I feel he will definitely get the chance. Also for Rahul, his dismissal today clearly shows that he is going through a rough time. He has a lot of quality and his a big player but his numbers could have been a lot better.”
