He delivered an impressive ball with significant swing across the line, causing it to miss the outside edge. In the very next delivery, He bowled a fast delivery targeting off stump, and Sadeera, with minimal foot movement, attempted to push it through the off side. However, the ball slipped between his bat and pad, crashing into the off stump. After two consecutive wickets, it was an opportunity for a har trick for Maharaj. But in the hat trick ball, Asalanka got two runs and Maharaj missed hat trick.

While batting first, Sri Lanka’s start was nothing less than a nightmare. They started losing wickets consecutively. Kusal Mendis was dismissed on 19 runs. Kamindu Mendis walked away after scoring 11 runs in 15 balls. Angelo Matthews scored 16 runs in 16 balls. In the 17th over, Sri Lanka is 71/8.
