The upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League is seeing all the franchises bidding for the best players as they have started drafting the players of their choice. In a spectacular turn of events, PSL 202 champions Karachi Kings traded all-rounder Imad Wasim to Islamabad United in order to rope in legendary pacer Hasan Ali. Wasim who is in the Platinum category has been exchanged for Hasan Ali who stands in the Diamond category.
Wasim’s spectacular record for Karachi Kings
Despite a series of brilliant records set by the 34-year old all-rounder, Karachi Kings still decided to trade him to rope in Hasan Ali. Wasim led the Kings to victory in the 2020 edition having scored 158 runs and picking up 7 wickets in a total of eight innings so far. He also did justice to the team in the 2023 editions, having registered 429 runs with three half centuries in 13 innings, finishing as the fifth highest run getter in the 2023 edition. With a formidable score, he also picked up nine wickets for the team at an average of 28.22.
Despite a swashbuckling performance, the Kings could not manage to qualify for the knockout stage in the 2023 edition and finished at the fifth spot with winning three matches out of ten matches they played so far.
Hasan Ali’s PSL vows
Ace pacer Hasan Ali is notably the second highest wicket taker in PSL history and had an unforgettable campaign with the Islamabad United in the 2023 season. In a total of eight innings, he played so far for the team, he took a total of 13 wickets, finishing among the top 10 wicket-takers in the PSL 2023. Unfortunately, the team was disqualified in the first eliminator stage against Peshawar Zalmi. Hasan has a magnificent record of picking of 94 wickets in 71 innings at an average and economy rate of 23.04 and 8.00 respectively.
