Jos Buttler is Ready to Lead England in the T20 World Cup, Emphasizes Team Unity in Unique Build-Up

Just a few days left before the T20 World Cup. All the teams are doing their last-time preparations. After two years of waiting, the exciting tournament is coming back. Last time’s defending champion England is ready to enter the tournament. Currently, England is facing Pakistan in a T20 series before the tournament. Jos Buttler is all set to lead the team in the tournament and shared his excitement.

The T20 World Cup is all set to be staged in June. This time the West Indies and USA will host the tournament jointly. Before that, all the teams are preparing well. England is facing Pakistan in a T20 series to prepare well ahead of the tournament. But the beginning of the series started with a setback. The first match between these two teams has been called off. 

England captain Jos Buttler was disappointed after it and while talking about this, he said, “Everyone was really excited for this series. Putting the England kit back on and playing cricket in England is amazing so it’s really disappointing today not to be playing but three matches still to look forward to.”

Prioritizing the Captaincy:

The series against Pakistan is a rehearsal stage for both teams. With those preparations, they will be decked up for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The England Cricket Board has already announced the squad and Jos Buttler will lead the team once again. While talking about this, he said, “It’s a unique build-up. I think that’s why we felt it was good to get the players all together in this series.”

Later he added, “My First Priority at the moment is being England captain and trying to prepare as best we can for a world tournament, so I always said to Rob (Key) I would definitely be coming back as England captain, and he’s made the call on the rest of the players.”

On the  Preparation:

The T20 World Cup is just a few days away. But the English players are in their prime form. All the players departed early from IPL for their national duty. But they showcased their excellence in IPL. Will Jacks and Phil Salt are in amazing forms. They showcased their excellence in the IPL 2024. Having been named in England’s T20 squad, they are big strengths. 

While talking about this, Buttler said, “I think we’ve got a really nice, blended squad, actually. We’ve got a lot of experience but some guy who are really on the upward curve with the likes of Phil Salt, Will Jacks.”

Further, he added, “Harry Brook is silvery early in his international career and those guys I really see trending in the right direction and pushing this team forward.”
